Pegge – Pegge Hooper, artist. If you believe Hawaii is cool, you must have a Hooper Original.
Roy – Roy Venters – The artist who creates must have glass hearts. Again, you should have one.
Elvis – Elvis Aaron Presley – His Aloha from Hawaii concert united the world. The King lives . . . forever.

The Fab-5 – In the early 1970’s these five transplant Afro-Americans turned Hawaii & UH
From an F to a B state (Football to Basketball). Their names – Al Davis, Jerome Freeman,
Dwight Holiday, Bob Nash and John Penebacker
Ben&Ella Kealoha “Ella” Kanahele (1907–1974) & Benehakaka “Ben” Kanahele.
The little known Niihau Incident occurred just days after Pearl Harbor.
This Niihauan couple fought the enemy in hand to hand combat.
Ben was given heroism awards, Ella nothing! Even though she delivered
the final blow. Isn’t it about time, we as a nation recognized Ella?
Jesse – James James Wailani Kuhaulua, or if you prefer, Takamiyama.
In the 1960’s & ‘70s, he broke racial barrier to reach the top levels of the Japanese Sumo world.
Wo Fat – The only restaurant to be reincarnated into a fiendish arch criminal.
He helped create the meme, “Book ‘em Danno” out of “Cook ‘em Danno”.
Donald – Donald Tai Loy Ho or if you prefer, Don Ho.
His Hawaiian Pop music caused millions to love Tiny Bubbles.
Israel – Israel Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole, or if you prefer, Iz.
